I just received my 3 units of the item: --3x Fulfilled By Amazon - 4ft iPod / iPhone / iPad Gold-plated 3-in-1 (Play/Charge/Sync) Apple Dock Connector to 3.5mm Audio AUX and USB Cable. Compatible -- and I can just say it works like a charm.

I got three of them because I wanted one for my office computer, another for my car and a third one to be used as a gift.

So far the one in my office works just like advertised, you plug it in the back of the cpu and it gets power from the usb port and send audio through the 3.5 mm jack. I can use it to check out the pictures taken with my iPhone 4, and to send high quality audio and playback through the pc's speakers. And the best thing, it charges in the meantime.

For the one in the car I also bought the --elago Nano EL-Car-001 USB Car Charger for iPhone, iPod, MP3 Players, Digital Cameras, PDAs, and Mobile Phones (Black)-- that converts the lighter thingy into a usb port, so not only am I playing my music trhough the auxiliary port, but my iPhone 4 charges when I'm in my car. Oh, and the best thing is that because you are using the dock connector on the iPhone, when you get an incoming call it doesn't reproduce it through the car's speaker system.
